I’ve never lived closer to danger, but I’ve never felt safer.

Everyone,

I am just taking a little time to let you know that Tough Mudder (www.toughmudder) is completely evil.

Recently I was scheduled to run the Central TX, but due to extreme rains the event was cancelled due to “legal and safety” issues. But HOLD ON, shortly AFTER they sent out the cancelled notice, they modified the course and let people that were onsite run the modified course. You might be thinking, not so bad, BUT they did not let anyone that was not onsite, onsite to run the course.

My question is if there were such “legal and safety” issues, how were others allowed to run this modified and others were not.

Tough Mudder thought they could make this situation right by offering a “free” complementary event in their 2012 series. BUT the only events they will offer are the Dallas and TX Coast event. I personally find this not acceptable as I am sure many others do, as I don’t see a make up for one event being so far away from the cancelled event. I assume there were many of people that traveled from all over (in and out of state), and people (including) myself do not want to have to set up travel arrangement and costs to get to a make up event.

Things I have requested to make up for this cancelled event:

  • Entry into the 2012 Austin Event (make up event at SAME LOCATION
Shown on their Website - http://toughmudder.com/events/austin-2012/
  • Spectator Pass (cover the spectator ticket that was purchased)
  • If the above could not be granted, I have asked for a refund.

Tough Mudder holds tight to their no refund policy even in this event I can see many ways they can be held responsible for the cancellation. Here are my points of view:

  • Yes there was extreme rains and parts of the course could have been extreme safety hazard, but they still manage to set up a modified course for people to run. MUST NOT BEEN THAT DANGEROUS

  • If there were legal issues with parking or other issues, Tough Mudder did a poor job of managing the event and the people that paid money should not be victims of their failures.

Either way it appears the be NEGLIGENCE ON TOUGH MUDDERS BEHALF

I feel that with me dealings Tough Mudder in trying to get a proper make up from this cancelled event have only left me disappointed, frustrated, and sad that what I once saw as such a great event has shown that they do not care about the people that support them.

I Recommend being very Cautious before signing up for a Tough Mudder Event.

Update: As of this time: Tough Mudder has made the situation correct for me and I would like thank TMHQ at this time, but I am sad that all the trouble it too get the resolution.

My new mud/trail shoes. Can NOT wait until I get to run in this bad boys.
This Sunday: TOUGH MUDDER for the 2nd time around.

Inov-8 Bare Grip 200

The freedom and sensation of barefoot running but the grip of an all conquering off trail shoe. Incredibly light and responsive, the bare-grip™ 200 simply screams “SPRINT ME, RACE ME” when you lace it up…and boy, does it deliver! Uniquely the ZERO Arrow Shoc-Zone™ bare-grip™ 200 does not have a midsole, so all the natural power and speed of the foot is transferred directly through the shoe. The closest you can get to barefoot running in a harsh off road trail environment.
